About Sarah
Hello, I'm Sarah. I offer a calm place to work through HSC English, Biology and Health and Movement Science. I studied Biology at the Australian National University and am a NESA-accredited teacher. I especially like connecting topics about the human body to situations students recognise. If you tend to go blank when someone asks you a question, we'll give you time to think and build from what you do know. I value small signs of progress, such as asking a question sooner or being able to explain a diagram without reading the notes. Those moments help students see that a difficult subject is becoming more manageable.
Tutoring experience
I've helped students organise biology revision, interpret health information and develop clearer written responses. My experience also includes supporting learners who can discuss a topic confidently but find it harder to put that knowledge on paper. We use diagrams, spoken explanations and short paragraphs to bridge that gap. For English, I help students select evidence and explain its significance, with feedback that leaves them responsible for their own writing. I also help students distinguish between information they need to recall and ideas they need to explain in context. We might link a biological process to an everyday activity, then practise expressing that link clearly. When revising, we revisit a few earlier questions alongside current schoolwork, giving students a chance to notice what they remember and which ideas still need a little attention.
