About Rebecca
I provide WACE tuition in Maths, Human Biology and Physics. My academic background is a Physics degree from UWA, complemented by a Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary). I work well with students who appreciate a measured pace and a clear explanation of the steps involved. Lessons connect the content being taught at school with the skills needed to interpret a question and construct an answer. I encourage students to ask for the reason behind a step and to be open about anything that still feels uncertain after an explanation.
Tutoring experience
I have helped students strengthen foundational calculations, describe biological processes and interpret scientific data. My experience includes ongoing support during term and revision organised around upcoming assessments. I look at the student's working as closely as the final answer: a correct result can still hide an uncertain method. For students with a large amount to revise, I help separate topics that need reteaching from those that need practice. We revisit the plan as new work comes back from school, keeping the workload realistic and the priorities clear. An additional focus is helping students choose a useful way to represent information before answering. A labelled diagram, a small table or an outline of the calculation can make the reasoning easier to organise. We discuss which representation helps in that situation and how to turn it into a complete response.
