Hi, I'm Laura! I tutor WACE English and Human Biology from Fremantle, with all lessons online. My degree in Anatomy and Human Biology is from UWA, and I also hold a Master of Teaching (Secondary). I enjoy explaining how the body works, but I'm just as happy discussing a text and helping a student discover what they want to say about it. I like to hear which parts of a topic have caught your attention, even if they are not the parts you find easiest. That interest can give us a useful way into the work and make a demanding study week feel a little less mechanical.

Over five years of tutoring, I've helped students organise revision, unpack difficult terminology and develop more confident written answers. In Human Biology, we often turn a dense page of notes into a labelled sketch and a spoken explanation. In English, I work on choosing evidence and building a line of argument. I have supported learners who need patient, regular practice as well as those looking for detailed feedback before an assessment. My aim is for students to understand the feedback well enough to use it without me. I've also helped students distinguish a detailed answer from a well-focused one. We decide what the question actually needs, select the most useful information and check how each sentence contributes. Revisiting an earlier paragraph or explanation after a few lessons gives students a chance to see the changes in their own work.
