About Jordan
Hi, I'm Jordan! I tutor HSC Physics and Chemistry online from Sydney. I studied Physics at the University of Sydney and am a NESA-accredited teacher. I like turning a question that looks intimidating into a few decisions a student can explain. That might mean drawing the forces before writing an equation, or using a particle sketch to make sense of a reaction. You can arrive with unfinished working and plenty of questions; that gives us a useful starting point.
Tutoring experience
Across five years of tutoring, I've supported Year 11 and 12 students with weekly classwork, practical investigations and HSC revision. Some are confident with the science but need help with algebra; others can calculate an answer yet find the written explanation difficult. We work on the particular gap, using recent schoolwork to guide our priorities. I've also helped students interpret graphs, keep track of units and distinguish what an experiment shows from what they expected it to show. Before an assessment, we revisit a small selection of earlier mistakes to check whether the underlying idea now makes sense.
Teaching approach
We begin with a question you want to understand, then try a short example together. You take the lead on a similar problem while I ask questions about your choices. We finish by recording one useful method and a manageable practice task. Shared whiteboard notes give you something to return to between lessons. I keep the pace flexible and welcome a request to go back a step.
