I offer VCE Physics, Chemistry and Biology tuition with a practical focus on interpreting evidence and explaining processes. My qualifications include a Biomedical Science degree from Monash University and a Master of Teaching (Secondary). Based in Bendigo, I work online with students across Units 1-4. I am particularly interested in the point where a learner knows the terminology but is unsure how to use it in a response. Lessons give us time to unpack that uncertainty and build a clear line of reasoning.

During six years of tutoring, I have supported students with scientific investigations, SAC preparation and exam practice. My experience includes helping learners distinguish a trend from an explanation, choose relevant information from a question and organise longer answers. In Biology we may trace a process through a diagram; in Chemistry and Physics we connect observations with equations or models. I also help students review marked work without treating every lost mark as the same kind of problem.

I start by asking the student to explain their current method. We identify one specific improvement, practise it and then try a question with a different context. For investigation tasks, I use separate examples to discuss variables, measurements and limitations, leaving the student's assessed work their own. We keep a brief record of recurring difficulties and revisit it during revision. The aim is a method the student can use when a familiar prompt is no longer there.
