I tutor QCE Maths, Biology and Chemistry, with Chemistry as my academic background. I graduated from the University of Queensland and hold a Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary). My focus is on dependable subject knowledge: knowing what a term means, when a method applies and how to check an answer. I offer steady, straightforward online support throughout the school year. I prefer to give an explanation enough time to settle before adding another layer. Students can ask for a slower example, try a step themselves and check that they understand why it is needed, without feeling rushed to finish a worksheet.

I have helped students with chemical calculations, biological processes and the mathematical skills used across science. My work ranges from revisiting a topic that never quite made sense to preparing for a set of upcoming assessments. I use practice questions to find the point at which understanding breaks down, then build back from there. Students also learn to review their own work for units, missing steps and unsupported conclusions. I've also supported students who know a definition accurately but struggle when it appears in an unfamiliar context. We compare several short examples and discuss what makes the concept relevant in each one. For revision, I help students build a useful selection of questions covering both straightforward applications and tasks that combine ideas. We then use their attempts to decide whether to move on or return to the underlying knowledge.
