About Chloe
VCE Maths and Business reward careful working and a clear explanation of decisions. Those are the habits I help students develop. I have a Finance degree from Monash University and VIT teacher registration, and I tutor online from Geelong. Sessions are organised around the work students are doing at school, with attention to the smaller misunderstandings that can hold up a whole topic. I encourage students to be precise about what a question asks and to use the information provided before reaching for a familiar formula or definition. This is especially useful when a task combines a table, a short scenario and several steps of working.
Tutoring experience
My tutoring has covered mathematical problem-solving, interpreting financial information and applying business concepts to unfamiliar scenarios. I have worked with students preparing for SACs, revisiting earlier content and building an exam revision schedule. I pay particular attention to the difference between recognising a worked solution and producing one independently. Written feedback highlights a small number of changes the student can put into practice straight away. For example, we might check whether a percentage change has been interpreted correctly, then consider what that change means for a business decision. I have also helped students organise longer answers so that each point is developed rather than merely listed. Before a SAC, we identify a few question types worth practising and review the results together, keeping preparation focused on the student's own needs.
